Brad Medcalf
ATTORNEY AT LAW

Partner Brad Medcalf came to the firm in April of 2015. He grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri, graduating from De Smet Jesuit High School. Brad was a Nike Blue Chip recruit coming out of high school. Ultimately, he elected to attend Saint Leo University in Tampa Bay on a lacrosse scholarship. While there, the team saw unmatched success, winning multiple conference championships.

Brad applied the same work ethic that made him successful on the playing field to the classroom. Academically, he was honored at the President’s Club Banquet, reserved for the highest achieving student athletes, every semester. After graduating with high honors, and a member of the honors college, with undergraduate degrees in English and Biology, Brad elected to attend the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri. While there, he experienced continued academic success. A Dean’s List member involved with various student groups, Brad was inducted into the Honors Society reserved for only high achieving law students. While still in school, Brad’s legal research and writing were so well received, an article he wrote was selected over numerous entries, for publication in a legal journal.

Brad has carried the good habits developed academically and athletically into a successful legal career. He has achieved at such a high rate he was offered an opportunity to become a partner at the firm. He accepted the offer with great excitement given the firms long-standing history of success. During his legal career, Brad has achieved multiple trial victories and negotiated million-dollar settlements. He received membership invitations to the American Academy of Attorneys “Top 40 Under 40 for Personal Injury Law” in Missouri, the American Institute of Legal Advocates “Personal Injury Rising Stars” in Missouri, the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys “Top 10 Under 40” in Missouri, and he accepted his membership invitation from the American Institute of Legal Counsel as a “10 Best Attorney for Workers’ Compensation” in Missouri.

Given his science background, Brad is able to review, comprehend, and utilize medical evidence in an efficient and effective manner. Brad’s familiarity with human anatomy and physiology allow him to present each client’s damages to insurance companies, and the medical experts they hire, in a way that is tangible and not vague. That knowledge and ability to communicate damages in an accurate and specific way, coupled with Brad’s unrelenting desire to maximize the recovery of each client, are essential to Brad being such an effective personal injury and workers’ compensation attorney.

Brad started his career representing injured individuals at this law firm, and he has repeatedly achieved great results for clients who suffered injuries in any number of different ways. Some of those personal injury law practice areas include or involve: workers’ compensation, work injuries, occupational diseases, repetitive use injuries, wrongful death of a loved one or relative, injury and/or death of children, UTV accidents, ATV accidents, boat accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, motor vehicle accidents, car accidents, semi-truck accidents, dangerous or defective products, premises liability, tort victim compensation fund claims.

Brad has recovered millions for his clients through the years. Recovering large sums of money for clients is an important measurement of success in this industry, but Brad is most proud of the number of referrals he has received from past and current clients, and the number of client whose cases were resolved years ago who will still call or text him with life updates or just to say ‘hello’. That genuine human experience with clients facing dark and difficult times after an injury, which goes beyond the mere application or regurgitation law, is something Brad values and never wants to lose. So, Brad makes a genuine effort to build a real and meaningful relationship with each person who trusts him with the story of their injuries, pain, and suffering, which too often has been consciously ignored by insurance companies. In learning each injured person’s story beyond surface level, Brad is then able to try and make sure the insurance companies hear and receive it in the same impactful way.

Brad is a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), Missouri Bar Association, the Eastern District Federal Court of Missouri, the Western District Federal Court of Missouri, and 26th Judicial Circuit Local Bar. Brad takes injury cases in every part of the State. If your injuries or circumstances are such that you cannot travel to one of the three office locations, phone consultations are common and equally effective in most cases. In some cases Brad will travel to your home/location to conduct the consultation if it presents itself as the best option.

Brad, and his wife Kirstyn, have three daughters: Harper, Hadleigh, and Quinn. Kirstyn is the glue that holds the Medcalf household together, and still finds time and energy to assist and organize different groups, projects, and fundraisers that do tremendous work for local communities, and well beyond. Brad coaches his children’s sports teams when he convince them to sign up for any activity other than dance. Given his lack of dance talent or ability, Brad is no more than a spectator of dance. That said, he very much enjoys watching his daughters perform. In addition to attending all the girls’ activities, Brad attends church and other community functions with his wife, Kirstyn. The whole family enjoys the lake, beaches, and time together.
